Why There’s a Dino in the Logs
If you stumbled across any of my pages, you might be asking:
"Ok, so… what’s the deal with the dino??"
To be fair, it all started as a random aesthetic signature in my personal notes.
At the time, I needed something quirky — something that would draw attention to problems or anomalies.
So what does the dino mean?
It means anomalies.
It means weird behavior.
It means the kind of issue that doesn’t show up until it really shows up — and once you see it, you can't unsee it.
Maybe it’s a threat actor.
Maybe it’s a bug in your server config.
Maybe your Linux box just flipped out.
Or maybe, if the universe really hates you that day… your RAM stick dies while you’re in the middle of work (been there, happened that — it sucks).
I’ve always had this analogy in my head:
Tech people are basically cats. That’s why I use a cat avatar.
And if we’re cats, then anomalies? Those are the dinos.
Ancient, unexpected, still dangerous, and definitely not supposed to be there.
Why I built this blog
This isn’t a portfolio.
If you want that, head to my GitHub and explore my repos.
This also isn’t one of those
"I built an OS from scratch using only caffeine, hatred, and a screwdriver."
kind of blogs.
I’m not perfect. You’re not perfect.
The best we can do is try to get a little better every day. If you want, check Kaizen.
This is a logbook:
- A place to document what I try — when it works, when it refuses to, and when it works and I don't know why.
- A place for future me (or others) to learn from disasters
- A space where learners (both you and me) figure things out as we go
What you’ll find here
Besides the entries of a highly caffeinated tech goblin, you’ll find:
- 🛡️ Cybersecurity logs — SOC training, vulnerability management, blue/red team learning, etc.
- 📡 Logs on SDR and RF experiments
- 🐧 Linux tricks, automations, and general things I find useful
- 🧪 Weird experiments that work (and that don’t)
- 🖨️ 3D printing tests, tuning, and build logs
- ⚡ My painful attempts at learning electronics and PCB design (don’t ask about the time, budget, or patience)
- 😒 Some humor — because even if everything’s on fire, you should at least go down laughing
Not everything here will be polished, but it will be readable (you can thank the Holy GPT for that).
But more importantly, it’ll be real.
And if you look closely enough...
there’s always be a 🦖 in the logs.
Thanks for reading.
